06/19 - Youth Entrepreneur Day

In celebration of Juneteenth, our plan is to make this a motivational and educational experience from beginning to end for the young business owners. Through workshops and guest speakers, we will walk-them through the steps of being a business owner, talk them through their sales pitch, explore branding, discuss scalability, and promote a healthy competition through games and prizes.

Our proceeds will continue to support Purpose Is Life’s ambitious goal of being an innovation disruptor and invigorate mentorship and community-based activities for our youth.

06/19 - Juneteenth Day Soirée & Black Business Expo

The Seeking Vision Gaining Success Foundation(SVGS Foundation) is hosting its first annual Juneteenth Day Soirée and Black Business Expo. We're kicking off summer in DC by giving the culture a long overdue experience of day party culture and fun, while still supporting those within the Blacks community and their accomplishments. Additionally, the event will also display several black local vendors, entertainment, networking, light hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails (cash bar) at the beautiful Eaton DC. 06/19 & 06/20 - Baltimore Main Streets Juneteenth Black Business Crawl

To commemorate the Juneteenth weekend, Baltimore Main Streets(BMS) is inviting you to visit its Main Street districts during our Black Business Crawl. The Black Business Crawl is being hosted by the Historic Pennsylvania Avenue Main Street and will visit each of the other main streets over the weekend with activities and giveaways at the participating Black-owned businesses.

Attendees of the BMS Black Business Crawl will receive a swag bag full of goodies from different Black businesses and list of the businesses participating in the event from each main street district. The participating businesses will have special sales and exclusive offers to passport holders, and after visiting each business, you will get a stamp ! At the end of the event, attendees turn their passports in to win prizes!!

Juneteenth in DC 2021

ONE DC is excited to announce our Juneteenth in DC 2021 event where we will celebrate the soft opening of our Black Workers & Wellness Center, and commemorate the continued struggle for Black liberation and justice!

After 5 years of grassroots fundraising and 1.5 years of renovations, we are excited to begin the process of reopening the Black Workers & Wellness Center, a community-controlled space in Anacostia where we organize for racial and economic justice through popular education, direct action, and worker-owned economic alternatives.
