exploration. Additionally, since we are in the holiday and giving season we are also going to include volunteer and donation opportunities in each weekly events round-up.

12/9 - "How's Your Spirit Sis?" Presented by The Tribe Connection
Join Us As We Discuss Black Women, Anxiety and Depression!!!! This month's special guest is Sarah-Ashley Andrews, Founder of Dare 2 Hope. Because this topic has been highly requested, we are running our mouths for TWO hours!!! And guess what...we'll be introducing The Tribe Marketplace to highlight a few Black Women Owned Businesses.

Empowerment Center’s Women's Support Group is designed to support women to find strategies to handle life’s gifts and challenges. We will support women who want to heal relationships, create pathways for mindfulness, to block microaggressions, and to structure a work-life balance. This women’s circle has proven to be of great value in helping the participants create greater harmony, joy, self-esteem and a sense of purpose in their world.

12/11 - BBZ Virtual Networking Holiday Party - December

12/13 - The Black Market - A Celebration of Black-Owned Businesses
Join in this Sunday as they celebrate and support small black businesses in the DMV. This is a family-friendly event and tickets include a southern-style brunch prepared by a licensed caterer. This market is held at a private location with plenty of parking, this is an outdoor garden event. Temperature checks and masks are required to attend.
Shop local businesses and vendors from the area with a diversity of goods ranging from jewelry to clothing.

12/13 - Small Business Sundays
Covid has been crippling to small businesses. Come out and shop with some of the best small retail vendors in Washington DC each and every Sunday in December at Exhale Bar and Lounge. Food and drink specials every Sunday as well.

12/13 - Be You Tiful Virtual Beauty Bash
Attendees will be able to watch makeup brand demonstrations, learn makeup techniques and zoom chat with brand owners and representatives. However attendees will receive sample makeup to learn how to apply. Live zoom chats and brand demos makeup presentations will take place throughout the event. As we join together with our community, we have created a beauty experience with black owned brands and artists in an actual virtual show experience. Join us on this virtual journey to connect with brands, celebrity makeup artists and industry experts as they show you the latest trends, techniques and share their business expertise to help guide you.

It is the season of giving and as you look into holiday events try to also give your time through these volunteer opportunities. Lastly Street Smart Collaborative is raising funds for their first Black-owned Gift Box. Our Black Gift Box hopes to advance the mission of supporting underserved communities by curating and selling a selection of goods from local black-owned businesses while serving as an advertisement for small businesses.
